“Why we have too few women leaders” – Scheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook

Incidentally, Facebook CEO, Sheryl met India’s prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi who is the second most popular politician in the world by Facebook’s own estimation, on 5th July 2014 in New Delhi, India and discussed about digital diplomacy and governance through the use of social media such as Facebook after expressing her personal appreciation of Modi’s priority of educating girls to accord equal opportunity towards creating a just world.

I remembered one of the students from last year posted a really interesting clip of Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer of Facebook and one of the few women at executive level in a global organisation. It’s really interesting, we have a female principal but in the HE sector, that’s unusual. Are there any pockets of female CEO’s in particular industries, perhaps in your discipline? If so what industries/professions and if not why not? Click here to watch her TED talk http://www.ted.com/talks/sheryl_sandberg_why_we_have_too_few_women_leaders?language=en
